Get every wedding guest’s photos in one album

4 min read

The short version

  1. 1Make one album, not a hashtag. Hashtags scatter. One link keeps everything in one place.
  2. 2Put the QR code where people wait. The bar and the dinner tables beat the entrance every time.
  3. 3Ask for the photos you actually want. “The table selfie” gets more than “share your photos”.
  4. 4Sort it whenever you’re ready. Folders for the ceremony and the dance floor, and downloads for everyone.

Five things before the big day

1Step 1 of 5

Make one album, not a hashtag

A wedding hashtag sounds organised until you try to find anything with it. Half the guests forget it, the other half post to stories that vanish, and your aunt sends hers by text in three batches.

One album link fixes that. Guests open it in their phone browser, type their name and add photos and videos, with no app to download and no account to make. Pick a look that suits your colours, so it feels like part of the day.

A brand new album, named and described, waiting for its first photo.
2Step 2 of 5

Put the QR code where people wait

Nobody scans a code on the way in. They’re looking for their seat and a drink. Put it where people stand still: on the dinner tables, by the bar, next to the guest book and in the photo booth queue.

Add the link to your wedding website and the morning after message too. A QR code should never be the only way in, especially for the guests who left early.

3Step 3 of 5

Ask for the photos you actually want

“Share your photos” is too vague to act on after two glasses of champagne. Give guests a mission instead: the selfie with your table, the getting ready chaos, the dance floor after the first song.

Ask for videos by name, too. The speeches, the first dance from the back, where your photographer couldn’t reach, the friend who should not have been handed a microphone. Guests add clips and photos in the same upload.

Guests add clips from their camera roll into the same album as photos.

Let the guestbook catch what nobody filmed

Some of the best bits of a wedding aren’t photos. They’re the toast your uncle gave at table nine, or the thing your best friend wanted to say but couldn’t get to the microphone for.

The album’s guestbook takes written messages and voice notes, so people can leave them from their seat. It reads like a guest book you can play out loud, and nobody has to find a pen.

The guestbook: messages and voice notes from every table.

Sort it whenever you’re ready

There’s no rush. The album keeps everything, so you can sort it the morning after or on a quiet Sunday a month later. Make folders for the ceremony, dinner and the dance floor, and move the photos in a few at a time.

Guests can download the photos they want without signing in, and anyone who added photos can make their own recap of the day to keep. Your photographer’s shots arrive later. These are the ones from everyone else.

Lines to copy

Three bits of copy for the wedding. Swap in your names.

For the table cards

“Took a photo today? Scan this and add it to our album. No app, no sign up, and you can leave us a voice note while you’re there.”

For your wedding website

“We’d love to see the day through your eyes. Add your photos and videos to our album here, any time before, during or after.”

For the thank you message

“Thank you for celebrating with us! If any photos are still hiding in your camera roll, we’d love them in the album. Here’s the link again.”

Common questions

Do wedding guests need to download an app to share photos?

No. Guests scan the QR code or open the link and add photos from their phone browser, on iPhone or Android. They type a name and that’s the whole sign up.

Can guests add videos as well as photos?

Yes. Photos and video clips from the camera roll go into the same album in the same upload, so the speeches and the first dance can come in too.

Can guests download the wedding photos?

Yes, without signing in. Guests save the photos they want straight to their phone, and the couple can download everything.

Can we keep the wedding album private?

Yes. You can add an entry code, so only people you give it to can open the album.

Can we sort the photos by part of the day?

Yes. Make folders like Ceremony, Dinner and Dance floor, then select photos and move them in. Guests can move their own photos into your folders too.
